What mamas told me

Before I built this, I sat down with postpartum mamas and asked one question: what is the problem with getting dressed?

These are the sentences that came back, almost word for word, from woman after woman. I kept them. Every choice in this capsule is an answer to one of them.

I feel trapped in the leggings and baggy tee rut, but I want to feel like a person again.
I have a closet full of clothes but absolutely nothing to wear for a quick outing.
I feel guilty spending money on clothes for a body that might change again next month.
Nothing from my pre-pregnancy closet fits, and trying to force it on is just depressing.
It is nearly impossible to nurse in regular clothes.
I am constantly leaking or covered in spit-up.
High-waisted pants either dig into my C-section scar or roll right down under my belly.
I look in the mirror and do not recognise who is looking back at me.
Buttons, zippers and tight waistbands are painful.
To the rut, the mirror, the closet full of nothingOne hundred outfits, decided, for the life you actually live: the walk, the school run, the supermarket, the floor of the living room. Still comfortable. No longer invisible.
To the guilt, and the body that changes againSoft waistbands, stretch, zip layers that fit at three months and at twelve. Six colours that all go together, so every piece you buy works with every piece you own.
To the nursing, the leaks, the scar, the waistbandsA clip-down tank or a nursing bra under every outfit, zips you open with one hand, high waists that sit above a scar and do not roll. Every outfit says exactly how it opens.
Built against every one of those sentences, for the days you are on your feet. One hundred outfits, fifty pieces, $27 once.

How it is worn

Not a flat lay on a table. A body, on the move, all year.

The sage jacket on a spring walk, shorts and a tank in the heat, the fleece and the vest in autumn, the puffer and the scarf in winter. Every outfit in the guide has its own photo like these.

Outfits from all four seasons, on the walk, the school run and the way to the park, in the same six calm colours.

Four of the hundred

Every outfit in the guide is shown like this: laid out, then worn, with the note on why and how it opens.

Sage joggers on the school run

Taupe trousers, blue crossover

Henley, vest and espresso joggers

Puffer and henley for nursery drop-off

Navy joggers, a clip-down tank and one zip layer carry more of these outfits than anything else. You do not have to own any of it: the shapes are deliberately ordinary, so you can find them in your own drawers and in any shop at any price. What you are buying is the arrangement, not a shopping list.

The palette

Six calm colours that never argue with each other

Four quiet neutrals carry the capsule and two soft colours lift it. Any two pieces you grab off the drying rack will work together.

THE LIGHTSThe base
Soft ivoryThe clip tank, the henley, the tee, the sweatpants, the trainers. The pale thing near your face.
Warm taupeThe longline hoodie, the fleece, the knit trousers, the cap and sandals.

The pale thing near your face, and the warm neutral that softens everything.

THE ANCHORSThe darks
Deep navyJoggers, leggings, the hoodie, the puffer, the dress and romper. The anchor.
EspressoJoggers, leggings, bike shorts, the vest, the wrap dress, the tote.

One in every outfit, so the lights have something to sit against.

THE COLOURSThe lift
Muted sageThe ribbed tank, the gauze shirt, the joggers, the zip jacket, the shirt dress.
Dusty blueThe crossover top, the hoodie, the windbreaker, the scarf.

Sage and dusty blue: calm colour you can wear every day without thinking about it.

The one ruleKeep one dark, one light and, if you like, one colour in every outfit. Navy joggers, an ivory tank and a sage jacket reads as a decision. The ivory and navy stripe counts as navy.

Strongly warm or strongly cool? The guide shows the few swaps to make, espresso for navy or charcoal for espresso, and not one outfit changes.

Built into the page

It is not a PDF you scroll once. It is a page that works for you every week.

The PDF is there for the print. The page is where you live. It reads your colouring, your shape this month and your calendar, and it stays where you left it on every screen you own.

The guide page on a monitor, a laptop and two tablets: the cool palette swap, the shape section and the planner
IF THE COLOURS ARE NOT YOURSThe same capsule, in coolSilver over gold, navy over camel? One section swaps the whole palette shade for shade. Every shape, formula and feeding rule stays exactly as it is.
FOR THE SHAPE YOU ARE NOWWhere you are carrying it this monthNot apple or pear. Through the middle, in the chest, in the hips, all over: pick the paragraph that is true this month and it tells you which of these pieces to lean on, and why. Come back when it changes.
YOUR PLANNERA week and a month, filled by youTap a day, pick an outfit from the guide, add a note (the meeting, the clinic, the handover). Walk the month forward and back. It remembers, so Sunday night takes four minutes.
PRINT OR PDFUS Letter and A4Two buttons. Your week with the outfit pictures and your notes, then your month, as two landscape pages. Save it as a PDF or stick it on the fridge.

Watch it work

Two minutes of the page doing its job. No voice-over, just the clicks.

Recorded on a guide page exactly like this one. Every capsule has the same planner and the same Anah; only the clothes change.

THE PLANNERA week on real days, then the month, then the printTap a day, choose from the outfits, add a note. Switch to the month and it is already there. Print it in US Letter or A4, or save it as a PDF.
ANAH, DRESSING YOUShow me in thisOne photograph of you, once. Then any outfit in the guide, on your body, with your face and your hair exactly as they are. Three are on the house with the Everyday Motion Capsule.

From me

Leggings were never the problem. Wearing them like you had given up was.

For months after my second I lived in the same grey leggings and whichever top had the fewest marks on it. I was comfortable, and I felt invisible. When I finally changed it, I did not stop wearing comfortable clothes. I started wearing comfortable clothes that matched, in colours that agreed with each other, with a layer on top that I had chosen on purpose.

That is all athleisure is when it works: the same soft waistbands and stretchy fabrics, arranged so you look like a person going somewhere rather than a person who could not face getting dressed. Navy joggers, an ivory clip tank, a taupe zip hoodie and white trainers is not an effort. It is a decision, made once, that you can repeat every day.

So this capsule is fifty pieces that all go together, in six calm colours, with a nursing bra or a clip tank under every outfit. One hundred ways to wear them, across all four seasons, each one shown flat and on a real body. Put one on, clip the baby in, and go.

Questions

What mamas ask before they buy.

Do I have to buy the fifty pieces?

No. The shapes are ordinary on purpose: joggers, leggings, a zip hoodie, a clip tank, white trainers. Most of them are already in your drawers in some form. The guide tells you which four to buy first if you are buying.

Is athleisure really getting dressed?

Yes, when it matches. Navy joggers, an ivory tank, a sage jacket and clean trainers is an outfit, not a surrender, and it is the one you can walk five miles in with a baby on your front.

Does it really work for feeding?

A clip-down tank or a nursing bra is under every outfit, the zips open with one hand, and every outfit note says exactly how it opens.

Can I print it?

Yes. The PDF is designed to print, and the planner prints your week and your month in US Letter or A4.

Is there a refund?

No, because the guide is delivered the moment you pay. The free Postpartum Lookbook on the home page shows you exactly how I lay outfits out, so you can see the style before you spend anything.

Comfortable was never the problem. Comfortable on purpose is the point.

One base, one bottom, one zip, one walking shoe, and everything opens. Copy an outfit tonight and tomorrow’s walk is decided.
