Why this one

Colour, for the people who were told to be careful with it

Somewhere along the way a lot of us were handed the same advice: stick to neutrals, they are safer. It is true, and it is also how you end up with a wardrobe of grey and a face that looks tired in all of it.

Burgundy and brick are the answer I kept coming back to. They are proper colours, deep enough to be serious, warm enough to throw light back at your skin, and quiet enough that wearing them head to toe does not feel like an announcement. Dusty rose sits above them and does the job that white usually does, without the glare.

There is one more thing. After my second, I did not want anything on my body that pulled. Almost every piece in here is knit, jersey or soft-woven for exactly that reason. Colour and comfort are not opposites, whatever the shops suggest.
